CPR & NICA FIRST AID
NICA first aid is designed to teach individuals how to deal with emergency situations by using first aid skills in a delayed-help environment. This NICA-specific first aid Class highlights the most pertinent parts of the Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Class as they apply to mountain biking. This course is a requirement for level 3 coach licensing. You can select a hybrid course and complete a portion online before or after the Summit or you can complete all of the course in person during the Summit.
This in person CPR course meets requirements of the American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA program. It helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies. The courses in this program teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. CPR certification is a requirement for level 2 coach licensing.
