You will also learn about experiential teaching techniques, how to accommodate different styles and abilities, and how to create a positive learning environment for young riders. OTB 101 is a requirement for level 2 and 3 coach licensing. Courses will be offered Friday, Oct 7 @ 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. & Sunday, Oct 9 @ 10:00 a.m.

OTB 201 is open for coaches that have completed OTB 101. On-the-Bike Skills 201 is the second level of mountain bike skills instruction for NICA coaches of student-athletes. On-the-Bike Skills 201 continues with progressive skill development and further resources for coaches to manage more advanced practice activities for growing teams. The courses will be offered Sunday, Oct 9 @ 10:00 a.m.

NICA first aid is designed to teach individuals how to deal with emergency situations by using first aid skills in a delayed-help environment. This NICA-specific first aid Class highlights the most pertinent parts of the Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Class as they apply to mountain biking. This course is a requirement for level 3 coach licensing. You can select a hybrid course and complete a portion online before or after the Summit or you can complete all of the course in person during the Summit.

This in person CPR course meets requirements of the American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA program. It helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies. The courses in this program teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. CPR certification is a requirement for level 2 coach licensing.
