GRiT Event – Lakeside Park, Waco
October 14, 2023 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Come join our GRiT ambassadors and coaches for some fun in the woods as we #facethetrails together! We will have our GRiT tent set up with a few snacks and get together to ride our bikes through the trails!
The goal of this event is to FACE THE TRAILS in two ways:
ADVENTURE scavenger hunt to find the faces in the trees
EMPOWERMENT to acknowledge our feelings going into the trails and overcoming them
All are welcome, but please bring a bike appropriate for mountain bike trails, helmet, and hydration.
Note: Woodway park has been recently named Lakeside Park, Google Maps still uses “Woodway Park”.

10-10:20 Welcome
Welcome Station – Waivers and Instructions
Bike Ready Station- assess bike ready and assign groupings with stickers
Nametag Station- We have bigger nametags to decorate and put on
Coney Course
10:20-10:45 Group Games
10:45-11:30 Face the Trails Ride/Scavenger hunt
Time to head out to the trails, but first, a quick conversation led by Tressa under the GRiT tent.
11:30ish Recap/Awards:
Awards will be given to those who get the most stamps.
What is GRiT?
GRiT Texas is an outreach program of the Texas Interscholastic Mountain Bike League, focused on recruiting and retaining female athletes, coaches, ride leaders and volunteers.
