Rocky Ruckus ramble race recap

March 28–29, 2026 | Muenster, TX | North Conference

The Texas Interscholastic Cycling League’s North Conference headed to 4R Ranch and Vineyards for the Rocky Ruckus Ramble Race. The course pushed athletes with long climbs and rocky terrain, but smiles and pride won the day as athletes finished their races.

Saturday: special guests and pre-ride fun

Saturdays are for fun, GRiT, and special guests. The highlight of the Saturday of Rocky Ruckus Ramble Race was a visit by multi-discipline cycling pros and national champions, Lauren Stephens and her teammate Catherine Moore. Lauren and Catherine pre-rode with our student-athletes and stopped to share some words of wisdom with the next generation of female cyclists at our GRiT tent.

“It is important that we give ourselves permission to win and permission to fail.”

Lauren Stephens

At the GRiT Ride, women and girls of all backgrounds and skill levels gathered to hit the trails. Seasoned varsity racers and brand new mountain bikers joined for one inclusive, encouraging, and genuinely fun ride. The GRiT tent activities drew a big crowd too, with participants connecting over shared stoke and to learn from the pros.

PRE-RIDES

Saturday also gives our coaches and athletes a chance to preview the course and session the rocky drops, tight switchbacks, and long climbs that make the Rocky Ruckus Ramble Race one of the toughest races this season. The community vibe is always high on Saturdays with bike soccer, Wiffle ball, Spike Ball, team campfires, Golden Spoon Awards and more!

Sunday: Race Day

Racing through the valleys and ridges at 4R Ranch, gave athletes some rare Texas elevation and showcased the depth and diversity that make Texas NICA special. From our varsity riders to first-time racers, everyone gave it their all and pushed for personal bests.
