SAKOB Donation Expands TX NICA Loaner Bike Program
We’re thrilled to announce that the Texas Interscholastic Mountain Bike League (TX NICA) has received a generous $5,000 donation from San Antonio Kids on Bikes (SAKOB)! This incredible support will help us expand our Loaner Bike Program, ensuring even more student-athletes have access to the equipment they need to ride and thrive.
The TX NICA Loaner Bike Program is designed to break down barriers to entry by providing bikes and equipment to students who may not have their own. This program doesn’t just empower kids to participate in mountain biking—it also serves as a recruiting tool through bike field trips, rodeos, and try-it-out rides.
SAKOB, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth through cycling, has been a steadfast supporter of the cycling community. In addition to this donation, SAKOB has sponsored several local San Antonio teams, including Lopez Middle School, San Marcos, and the Alamo City Femmes. Their commitment to nurturing young riders is helping to create a stronger, more inclusive cycling culture in Texas.
Thanks to supporters like SAKOB—and our partners Trek, Unified Bike Company, Velocirax, Squirt Cycling Products, and the Monat Gratitude Foundation—we’re able to ensure that every kid who wants to ride gets to ride.
Together, we’re making mountain biking accessible to all. Thank you, SAKOB, for your generosity and dedication to growing the sport of cycling!
