2024 Wrangle in Warda – Recap

Race Weekend Photos

Official Race Photos

Our race weekend photographers are 100% volunteers! They take the photos and share them because they love the heart of NICA. Their photos are for sale for $2 each on SmugMug, but all proceeds go towards a bike scholarship at the end of the season!

Contribute Media

We’re hoping to develop social media content to help the league grow and we need your help! If you’re a photographer or student who would like to contribute your photos or videos, please submit them to our Google Photos collaborative album.

To collaborate in the album, you must have a gmail account – this also means that your submissions are not anonymous and are visible to anyone else viewing the album. BUT it also means your content could be used in our hype videos/reels and social media!

YouTube Videos

Did you have your GoPro on during the race? Want us to feature you on the league’s Race Course Preview playlist?

Submit your videos to our Google Photos collection OR send us a link to your posted YouTube video and we’ll review it for a chance to be added to our YouTube Race Previews and Recaps Playlist!

Beyond Racing

Collegiate Cycling

MSU Cycling Team Swag Table

The MSU Cycling team joined us this weekend to talk to our students about collegiate cycling and scholarship opportunities! Their swag table was a hit and many students and parents were surprised to learn that there is cycling beyond high school!

GRiT Activities

GRiT Ambassadors and Coach

The GRiT tent featured our Ambassador’s favorite jams, bean bag toss and other yard games.

The GRiT store took up 3 full tables! Remember that the GRiT store is open to ALL NICA participants!

OTB 101 Training

On the Bike (OTB 101) mountain bike skills training

Lynnette Wood hosted 2 OTB 101 trainings this weekend. These trainings are how we train our coaches to coach the skills these student-athletes need to be safe and successful on the trails!

Keep your eyes open for more trainings this season!

Teen Trail Corps

Trail Maintenance and course rerouting at Bluff Creek Ranch

Volunteering for course setup and helping with course reroutes counts for both volunteer time and Teen Trail Corp Hours!

Sign up for volunteer spots early and remember to check in at any time during Saturday to see if we need an extra hand!

Course Cleanup

Student Athlete Mountain Bikers riding through mud

We made a hot mess of these trails!

If you’re available, please join us on Friday, February 9 at Bluff Creek Ranch for a trail clean-up day!

Stay tuned for more details and specific times.

Bring shovels and McLeods if you have them. We’ll be filling in dirt, packing it down, placing more dirt, and doing everything we can to put things back the way we found them.

Please email kimt@texasmtb.org if you plan to attend so we can gather a headcount (aka, fruit snack count!)
