The annual NICA Awards recognize the student-athletes, coaches, and volunteers who bring NICA’s core values to life. They celebrate community, partnership, effort, and impact. These awards shine a light on individuals whose leadership and dedication to the sport of mountain biking have had a meaningful impact — whether that impact has been felt by their team, league, or the entire NICA organization.

COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD
Honoring a student-athlete who has created positive change in their community through exceptional dedication to youth cycling advocacy and stewardship. All student-athletes from 2023 are eligible for this award.
SRAM COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD
Recognizing a coach whose leadership and motivation align with NICA’s mission, providing student-athletes with the coaching and camaraderie to reach their goals. All 2023 licensed coaches are eligible for this award.
OUTSTANDING TEAM AWARD
This award celebrates a NICA team that has shown a clear commitment to NICA’s core values, fostering a culture of fun, inclusivity, and community engagement. All 2023 NICA teams are eligible for this award.
TREK EXTRAORDINARY CHARACTER AWARD
Honoring a student-athlete who exemplifies NICA’s core values and serves as a role model through their contributions to their team and community. This award is open to all student-athletes from 2023 who have made dedicated efforts to pursue the best version of themselves.
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD
Recognizing a former student-athlete who carries the spirit of NICA’s values beyond their high school years and serves as an ambassador for getting #MoreKidsOnBikes. Eligible nominees include NICA alumni from any league and any year.
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
This award honors an individual for their tremendous support of NICA and/or a NICA league. Eligible nominees include NICA and league staff/directors, coaches, and volunteers who have dedicated great personal time and effort to furthering NICA’s mission over an extended period of time.
Nomination Process
To submit a nomination, please visit the NICA Awards Submission Form. The deadline for nominations is February 15, 2024.
Award recipients will be announced via email and social media by mid Spring.
