Coach Trainings – Warda

The TX NICA Coach Supporter team is hosting a weekend of coach licensing training at Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda to help coaches complete all of their in-person course requirements in one weekend.

  • NICA First Aid 
  • OTB 101
  • OTB 201
  • Adventure 

COURSE FEES

  • COMBO: OTB 101 and Adventure: $35
  • COMBO: OTB 201 and Adventure: $35
  • First Aid: $65
  • OTB 101 or 201: $25
  • Adventure: $20
  • The Bluff Creek Day Use Fee is included with your course registration

COURSE DESCRIPTOINS

NICA First Aid: This course is required to become a Level 3 Coach. IMPORTANT-The course is hybrid (on-line and in-person training). Please complete the on-line training prior to the in-person training.

OTB101: This is the required on-the-bike training to become a Level 2 Coach. IMPORTANT-Please log into Pitzone and complete the online portion of On-the-Bike Skills 101: Classroom.

OTB 201: This is the progression from OTB 101.  Prerequisites are successful completion of 101 and at least one-year of coaching.

Adventure: This course teaches coaches how to create a progression of activities and experiences that provide youth the space to pursue challenges and self-growth.

You must be registered as a coach in PitZone, with NICA membership fee paided and NICA participant waiver signed. A Certificate of Completion will be uploaded into PitZone.

Getting Prepared

For OTB and Adventure classes, bring all your riding gear and bike. We will be standing for much of the session so wear something comfortable. Bring flat pedals and comfortable shoes if you have that option.

Time Committment

  • The skills instruction for OTB 101 will be approximately 3.5 hours. Bring water and a snack.
  • The skills instruction for OTB 201 will be approximately 5. Bring water and a snack. 
  • The instruction for Adventure will be approximately 3.5. Bring water and a snack.
  • The instruction for First Aid will be approximately 3.5. Bring water and a snack.
