New to Mountain Biking? Curious about Joining a Team?
This free, beginner-friendly event is a great way for 5th–12th grade students and their families to explore what mountain biking with NICA is all about. No experience is necessary!
Hosted by local youth mountain bike teams, this “Try It Out” ride gives you a chance to:
- Discover how to get involved with a team near you
- Meet friendly coaches and student-athletes
- Learn basic bike skills in a safe, supportive environment
- Take part in a relaxed, no-pressure trail ride
Agenda
2:00-2:30 p.m. Welcome Stations
Welcome Station – Waivers, Instructions & Name Tags
Trek? Bike Ready Station – assess bike ready and assign groupings with stickers (working to get Trek on site for this)
2:30-3:00 Group Games
We’ll work on a few basic bike skills and get you ready for the trails.
3:00-3:45 RIDE the Trails
Time to head out to the trails! There will likely be a wide variety of skill levels. Our expert coaches will be sure to keep this ride fun.
3:45-4:00 Recap and Q&A
What to Bring:
- A working bike (Let us know if you need help borrowing one)
- A helmet
- Water and a positive attitude
