Saturday
29 Pines is such a peaceful and perfect backdrop for a NICA race weekend. This race was originally scheduled for February, but was rained out, so we had to use our “rain date”. While the weather forecast leading up to the race kept us on the edge of our seats, the scattered showers throughout the week left us with nothing but hero dirt.
GRiT
One of our regular weekend highlights is GRiT, our Girls Riding Together program. Over the past few years, the percentage of girls participating in Texas NICA has grown from 15% in 2021 up to 21% this year. This was our smallest race of the season being North only and it had 208 athletes who raced on Sunday, but on Saturday our GRiT ride hosted 54 women for a lap around the course!
100 gnar points to our GRiT coordinators, coaches and ambassadors for the work they’re doing to get more girls on bikes.
If you’d like to be a GRiT ambassador, applications are open through May 18.

Team Fundraiser
We’ve surpassed our Texas league’s goal for the team fundraiser, but don’t let that stop you!
Students who raise $500 will get to choose between a custom TX NICA hammock or one of our exclusive gear bags.
All entries go towards supporting our teams directly, but a little added bonus is that every entry goes towards a chance to win a Trek Supercaliber. As an added bonus, one lucky student who helped fundraise for their team will also be entered to win a Supercaliber!
The fundraiser is open through MAY 4!
