DESCRIPTION:Thunderbird Lodge\, Burnet\, TX \n\n\n\nThe Texas NICA Leader Summit is an annual conference for team and league leaders to gather to discuss the upcoming season and share best practices for starting\, growing and managing youth mountain biking teams. The Leader Summit is required for level 3 coaches certification.  \n\n\n\nJoin us to learn\, network with other coaches\, ride the trails and get #morekidsonbikes. \n\n\n\n2021 Leader Summit Attendees at Reveille Peak Ranch\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2022 Leader Summit Agenda\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Links\nLEADER SUMMIT\nSpace is limited.  Registration will remain open as long as space is available.  \n\n\n\n\nLeader Summit registration covers attendance at Conference Track Sessions. The Summit’s Conference Track begins Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. for a social hour and dinner (cash bar) and wraps-up by 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Registration covers meals Friday evening through Sunday morning. You are responsible for your own lodging.   \n\n\n\n2022 Leader Summit – $150\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOTB COURSES\n\n\n\nOTB 101 teaches coaches the progressive steps needed to teach anyone both basic and advanced mountain biking skills. You will also learn about experiential teaching techniques\, how to accommodate different styles and abilities\, and how to create a positive learning environment for young riders. OTB 101 is a requirement for level 2 and 3 coach licensing. Courses will be offered Friday\, Oct 7 @ 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. & Sunday\, Oct 9 @ 10:00 a.m. \nOTB 201 is open for coaches that have completed OTB 101. On-the-Bike Skills 201 is the second level of mountain bike skills instruction for NICA coaches of student-athletes. On-the-Bike Skills 201 continues with progressive skill development and further resources for coaches to manage more advanced practice activities for growing teams. The courses will be offered Sunday\, Oct 9 @ 10:00 a.m. \n\n\n\n\nOTB101 – Friday 9:00 a.m. – $25\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nOTB101 – Friday 1:00 p.m. – $25\n\n\n\nOTB101 – Sunday 10:00 a.m. – $25\n\n\n\nOTB201 – Sunday 10:00 a.m. – $25\n\n\n\nOTB101 – Sunday 1:00 p.m. – $25\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCPR & NICA FIRST AID\n\n\n\nNICA first aid is designed to teach individuals how to deal with emergency situations by using first aid skills in a delayed-help environment. This NICA-specific first aid Class highlights the most pertinent parts of the Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Class as they apply to mountain biking. This course is a requirement for level 3 coach licensing. You can select a hybrid course and complete a portion online before or after the Summit or you can complete all of the course in person during the Summit.  \n\n\n\nThis in person CPR course meets requirements of the American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA program. It helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac and breathing emergencies. The courses in this program teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. CPR certification is a requirement for level 2 coach licensing.  \n\n\n\nCPR & NICA First Aid – $99-$225 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLodging Options\n\n\n\nAttendees are responsible for their own lodging. We have worked with the locations below to offer special pricing and/or amenities.  \n\n\n\n\nThunderbird Lodge at Spider Mountain – INDOOR LODGING\n\n\n\nSituated on a beautiful and inviting Hill Country property along the shore of Lake Buchanan.
