DESCRIPTION:STORM Take a Kid Mountain Biking+TX  NICA Try-it-Out\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSouth Texas Off-Road Mountain Bikers (STORM) hosts this free annual youth mountain biking event on the dirt trails at McAllister Park.  \n\n\n\nThis is a great opportunity for parents and children to get out on the dirt trails and see how fun mountain biking can be. Kids will learn basic trail skills and trail etiquette during this introduction to trail riding. Participants will meet at the McAllister Park practice fields parking lot at Pvalion 5 near the bike skills course and pump track (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Mjtvg8Pjg3zgLcvR8) and the event will last from 9:00am – 12:00pm. \n\n\n\nThe Texas Interscholastic Mountain Bike League will be joining STORM in getting More Kids on Bikes! This event welcomes everyone—whether you’re brand new to mountain biking or an experienced rider looking to connect with a new team. \n\n\n\nParents and community members are encouraged to join\, meet our dedicated NICA students and coaches\, and explore opportunities to get involved as a coach or supporter. It’s a day of fun\, community\, and discovering the joy of mountain biking. No experience? No problem. Updates and cancellations will be posted on this Meetup group\, the “STORM South Texas Off Road Mountain-Bikers” Facebook events page\, and the STORM website events page. \n\n\n\n\nUpdates and cancellations\n\n\n\n\nParents or accompanying adults will need to sign a liability waiver for themselves and their child before the ride and accompany their child on the ride. \n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n9-9:20 Welcome StationsWelcome Station – Waivers and InstructionsBike Ready Station – assess bike ready and assign groupings with stickersNametag Station – Decorate NametagsConey Course – to ride around on. \n\n\n\n9:20-9:45 Group GamesWe’ll work on a few basic bike skills and get you ready for the trails. \n\n\n\n9:45-10:30 RIDE the TrailsTime to head out to the trails! DESCRIPTION:OTB 101 will be offered in San Antonio\, Sunday December 11th\, 9:00AM to 12:00PM. \n\n\n\nOTB101 is needed to become a Level 2 Coach. \n\n\n\nYou must be registered as a coach in PitZone\, with NICA membership fee paid and NICA participant waiver signed. The cost of the course is $25\, which covers the Field Guide you will receive upon successful completion of the course.
