Both RV and tent camping is available\, but there are not any RV hookups available. Generators must be turned off by 10 p.m..  \n\n\n\nPlease note that we will have assigned camping Zones for this race due to one-way traffic\, limited turn-around space and congestion. Camping assignments were determined by the league race and venue committee. For 4R Ranch\, Zone 1 assignments were based on team size that would fit at the individual campsites\, since that area is not “dispersed” camping. Our intention is to help teams communicate with their families more easily regarding the location of their team’s camp at a venue with limited cell service. \n\n\n\n\n\nZone 1\n\n\n\nNTX (sites 3 & 4) \n\n\n\nHighland Park (site 10) \n\n\n\nSouth Metro (5&6) \n\n\n\nMineral Wells (site 2) \n\n\n\nIndependent (site 1) \n\n\n\n\n\nZone 2\n\n\n\nAmarillo \n\n\n\nAzle Composite \n\n\n\nJesuit Dallas \n\n\n\nIndependent \n\n\n\nClassical Dallas \n\n\n\n\n\nZone 3\n\n\n\nEast Texas Fresh \n\n\n\nHeart of Texas / Midway \n\n\n\nBurleson Centennial \n\n\n\nMesquite Composite \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCamping and Venue Map\n\n\n\nDue to limited cell service at this venue\, we encourage all attendees to PRINT their maps before leaving for the race weekend. \n\n\n\nNote that you will only be able to enter the race venue from the east entrance. This will help with traffic flow and safety during the race weekend. \n\n\n\nRV’s should exit the venue via the TEAL line. Cars may use either the teal or the green line. Both of these roads should be ONE WAY TRAFFIC.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRace Route\n\n\n\nGet your climbing legs ready! This race will take you from the bottom of a valley up through beautiful north Texas bluffs and back down again. This course has more climbing than any other course this season and will test even our strongest athletes. \n\n\n\nThe course and other elements are subject to change as race day approaches.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBefore the Race\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister in PitZone\n\n\n\nThe race registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. the Tuesday prior to race. It takes approximately 100 volunteers to put on each race and we have positions for all skill sets – on or off the bike.  \n\n\n\nFor more information\, contact volunteers@texasmtb.org  \n\n\n\n\n\nVolunteer Positions\n\n\n\nYou don’t need to be a mountain bike expert to be a great volunteer! Volunteers can help set up the course\, work road and course crossings\, keep an eye on students on the course (course marshals)\, assist with scoring and so much more. \n\n\n\n\nVolunteer Position Descriptions\n\n\n\nNICA Race Volunteer Guidelines\n\n\n\nVolunteer Waiver\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign Up\n\n\n\nGetting involved with the race is a rewarding experience and a great way to be part of the action! \n\n\n\n\nVolunteer Sign-up\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVolunteer Home Teams\n\n\n\nEach race is assigned a group of home teams based on proximity to the venue. We expect home teams to make a concerted effort to get as many volunteers from their team as possible for that race weekend\, but we recognize that the weekends can be busy for everyone involved and travel itmes vary.  \n\n\n\n\n\nSugarland (S)Feb. 1-2\, 2025Houston CompositeWoodlandsPearland CoyotesArmadillos – Fort Bend \n\n\n\n29 Pines (N)Feb. 15-16\, 2025Rose City RacingETX Piney WoodsJesuit DallasHighland ParkMesquiteClassical Dallas \n\n\n\n\n\nMillican (N+S)Feb. 22-23\, 2025A&M/College StationNorth AustinAustin HighSt. StephensSteiner/Vandergrift \n\n\n\nRPR (N+S)Mar. 8-9\, 2025BulldogsLake TravisSan MarcosHays County \n\n\n\n\n\nTroy (N+S)Mar. 22-23\, 2025Heart of Texas/MidwayFort Worth FlyersSouth MetroAbilene – Team Big CountryVista RidgeWestlake \n\n\n\n4R (N)Apr. 5-6\, 2025AmarilloWichita FallsNorth TexasAzleMineral Wells \n\n\n\n\n\nWarda (S)Apr. 12-13\, 2025Boerne 9ersTwo10Alamo HeightsLopezAlamo City FemmesVictoria \n\n\n\nState ChampionshipMay 3-4. 2025All Teams \n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Race Details\n\n\n\nRace Plates\nRace Plate Pick-up\n\n\n\nCoaches will pick up all race plates at the first race. Riders will receive one plate to be used for all races and event weekend activities. Plates have chips on the back and require care to avoid damage. Each athlete will also receive a back number that must be adhered to their jersey during races. There is a $10 fee to replace lost\, stolen\, or forgotten plates. If you need a replacement\, go to the registration tent. \n\n\n\nNo unregistered parents or siblings allowed on course\n\n\n\nTo be on the course or in the adventure zone at any time during event weekends\, riders (Students and Coaches) must be fully practice ready in Pit Zone and have their number plates on their bike.GRiT ride participants should sign a waiver at the GRiT tent \n\n\n\n\nSeason Scoring\nRace Series Rules\n\n\n\nTexas offers a conference race series for each conference (North and South) followed by a joint conference State Championship race. Teams can only attend races offering categories for their conference. Some conference races may host both conferences\, but each conference will have separate podiums for each category. The League will offer five regular season races for each conference and may have one or more predetermined rain dates in case of weather cancellations.  \n\n\n\nPlease refer to Chapter 5 in the TX NICA League Handbook for details scoring\, structure and categories.. \n\n\n\n\nRace Duration Guidelines\nSECTION 5.2 — NICA course length \n\n\n\nThe number of laps raced in each category is determined according to riders’ ability to complete the race within a specific time. Event times will be: \n\n\n\n\nNot to exceed 45 minutes for 5th-8th Grade categories \n\n\n\nNot to exceed 75 minutes for JV2\, JV3\, and JV4 categories\n\n\n\nNot to exceed 90 minutes for JV1 categories\n\n\n\nNot to exceed 105 minutes for Varsity \n\n\n\n\nStudent athletes are expected to be able to safely complete the course within the designated time limit. Athletes may be asked to withdraw and exit the course after cut-off time limits have been reached. Racers who do not make the time limit cut-off will still be scored and ranked.  \n\n\n\nLeague and race officials reserve the right to determine these time limits and alter them at any time. Time limits may be imposed or altered for reasons that include\, but are not limited to\, safety\, heat\, cold\, rain\, and muddy conditions.  \n\n\n\n\nChip Timing\nAll riders will receive a permanent number plate with a chip timing transponder on the backside. Riders use the same plate for the entire race series. Please remove this number plate before transporting bikes to prevent loss.  \n\n\n\nReplacement number plates will be available at the registration tent for $10.00. \n\n\n\n\nCategory Placement \nSECTION 5.12 — League structure and categories \n\n\n\nRace categories will be evaluated and assigned in Pit Zone. Petitions should be submitted to the Texas League Rules Committee using the petition form by Friday at 11:59 PM\, one week before the race weekend. \n\n\n\nNo race day petitions will be accepted \n\n\n\n\nPetition Form\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather and Refund Policy\nWeather Policy\n\n\n\nThe League’s primary considerations in assessing inclement weather plans are the safety of riders\, staff and spectators\, as well as the potential for damage to the venue and trails. Decisions regarding canceling\, postponing or altering race start times\, lap lengths\, number of laps\, etc. will be made jointly by league staff and the land manager. If inclement weather is predicted\, we will make a decision about weather related cancellations by Thursday at 5:00 p.m. For more details about our inclement weather thresholds and cancellations\, see the Weather Policy.  \n\n\n\n\nReview the Weather Policy\n\n\n\n\nRefund Policy\n\n\n\nWe realize that mountain biking is a new sport for many\, and parents may be concerned that their child may not stick with it. The Texas Interscholastic Cycling League strives to put on world-class events and provide all of our student-athletes\, coaches\, and volunteers with the best resources possible at practices throughout the season. With this goal in mind\, we make a financial investment to cover insurance\, training\, and planning activities. Those expenses are continuously incurred. In order to maintain the sustainability of the League\, it is necessary we implement a NO REFUND policy with limited exceptions only for illness\, injury\, or family emergencies.  \n\n\n\nRefunds for injured athletes\n\n\n\nThe Texas League fee may be partially refundable for season-ending illnesses\, injuries\, or family emergencies that prohibit athletes from participating in practices and races. A doctor’s note must be provided for illness or injuey. There is a minimum $100 non-refundable fee to cover NICA fees\, insurance\, and registration. Refunds cannot be made after the second race. League leadership will review refund requests and make a determination.  \n\n\n\n\nNICA Handbook: Rules and Guidelines\nAll participants are required to read\, understand and abide by all league policies\, rules and protocols while attending any league event. \n\n\n\nThe handbook details important rules that should be followed at all races as well as any associated penalties or disciplinary actions that can be assessed against riders or teams for violations of the rules. \n\n\n\n\nSeason XV Student Handbook\n\n\n\n\nLEAGUE RULES COMMITTEE PETITION FORM COMING SOON (Form will be available soon – Do not use this form for category placement petitions) \n\n\n\n\nAssigned Team Radio Channels

\n\n\n\n\n\nZone 1\n\n\n\nNTX (sites 3 & 4) \n\n\n\nHighland Park (site 10) \n\n\n\nCollege Station  (site 2) \n\n\n\nSouth Metro (site 1) \n\n\n\nMineral Wells (site 6) \n\n\n\nIndependent (site 5) \n\n\n\nSan Marcos / Trinity (site 11) \n\n\n\n\n\nZone 2\n\n\n\nSteiner Ranch \n\n\n\nNorth Austin / Vista Ridge \n\n\n\nWestlake \n\n\n\nComacho \n\n\n\nEast Texas Fresh \n\n\n\nBulldogs \n\n\n\n\n\nZone 3\n\n\n\nLake Travis \n\n\n\nAustin High \n\n\n\nHeart of Texas / Midway \n\n\n\nHays County \n\n\n\nSt. Stephens \n\n\n\n\n\nZone 4\n\n\n\nAlamo Heights \n\n\n\nTWO10 / Lopez \n\n\n\nWest Houston / Houston \n\n\n\nAmarillo \n\n\n\n\n\nDue to limited cell service at this venue\, we encourage all attendees to PRINT their maps before leaving for the race weekend. \n\n\n\n\n\nView Interactive Map\n\n\n\n\n\nNote that you will only be able to enter the race venue from the east entrance. Both of these roads should be ONE WAY TRAFFIC.   \n\n\n\nThe course and other elements are subject to change as race day approaches.  \n\n\n\nVolunteer at a race\n\n\n\nThis organization is run by a community of volunteers\, and there are a number of ways you can donate your time to support the league!  \n\n\n\nVolunteering at our races is a fun and rewarding way to get involved and help bring the NICA experience alive for our student athletes\, parents\, and coaches. 12-13\, 2025Boerne 9ersTwo10Alamo HeightsLopezAlamo City FemmesVictoria \n\n\n\nState ChampionshipMay 3-4. 2025All Teams \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTeam Snap\n\n\n\nTeamSnap is our official League chat app. If you’re a coach in the league\, you should have access to at least three channels: \n\n\n\n\nTexas Coaches: Used for general announcements and communications at North+South conference event weekends.\n\n\n\nNorth Conf. Coaches: South conference specific announcements\n\n\n\n\nWith the League subscription\, all teams have access to a team app as well. Teams are not required to use TeamSnap\, but it can be handy to have all league related communications in one single app. \n\n\n\nTeam Radios\n\n\n\nMany teams use team radios for practices and during event weekends. If you’re curious about using or setting up team radios\, let us know! \n\n\n\nIf you have questions related to TeamSnap or radio communications\, reach out to us at info@texasmtb.org \n\n\n\n\nContact us for Assistance\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Race Details\n\n\n\nRace Plates\nRace Plate Pick-up\n\n\n\nCoaches will pick up all race plates at the first race.
